Learn how to pack a shoebox
Visit samaritanspurse.org/occ and learn how to bless a child overseas through a gift filled shoebox, given in Jesus' Name.

In the hands of local churches, every gift filled shoebox is a powerful tool for evangelism and discipleship - transforming the lives of children and their families around the world through the Good News of Jesus Christ!

We are continuing what Jesus started - Every shoebox delivered by Operation Christmas Child is a tangible expression of God's amazing love. But a shoebox is just the beginning. It also presents an opportunity in more than 100 countries for our church partners to invite children into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ through The Greatest Journey.

Shares the Good News of Jesus Christ  - As shoebox gifts are distributed, local pastors or church leaders present the Gospel in a fun way designed for kids while family and friends listen in. Along with their shoebox gift, children also receive The Greatest Gift, a colorful presentation of the Gospel in their own language.

Blesses children with joy, hope, and love - Their shoebox is the first gift many children have ever received! The treasures and personal letters inside communicate that someone cares for them and give them an opportunity to experience the love of God.

Gives a church an effective outreach tool - Local churches use gift-filled shoeboxes as a tangible inroad for evangelism. The shoebox gifts allow them access to places they might never been welcome otherwise.

Makes disciples through the local church - After receiving shoebox gifts, boys and girls are invited to enroll in The Greatest Journey, our 12 week discipleship program. They learn from trained local volunteers what it means to faithfully follow Christ and share their faith with others.

Multiplies as children share their faith with friends and family - Even before The Greatest Journey course is over, students begin witnessing to others. Then at graduation, the Gospel is shared with their friends and family again. The graduates also receive a New Testament to use personally and in communicating their faith to others.

Grows congregations and plants new churches worldwide - Through the efforts of local believers in our National Leadership Teams, entire communities are being evangelized as shoebox gifts are delivered. Some of these areas do not have any existing church.

Blackbox International

Blackbox International seeks to bring healing to boys who have been rescued out of trafficking through holistic aftercare. Blackbox, a not-for-profit, was created to establish a model of care that provides hope for these boys. As a Christ-centered organization, Blackbox seeks to help these boys find healing from their past, joy in their present and hope for their future.

There is significance to the name Blackbox. Often, justice work leads to a intervention and rescue, a time when protection for a survivor is critical. The rescued, need to move from exploitation into safety - their identity and location covered by the dark of night, a blurry image, the equivalent of a black box.   Behind that box is a story and the story must change.

Tragically, there is little help or hope for victimized boys anywhere on the planet. Blackbox International was created to change that. We believe that healing is not only possible, but that it MUST be an option for these boys.

Holistic Aftercare—Blackbox seeks to bring healing to boys rescued out of sex trafficking through holistic aftercare. We began this critical work in the Dominican Republic and continue to provide care for boys in our safe-home. We are learning from this first initiative and developing a model community that can be reproduced globally.

Counseling—Counseling is key when it comes to helping boys rescued from sex trafficking. A team of professionals designed the first therapeutic curriculum for trafficked boys. They chose Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy(TF-CBT). This therapy reduces the negative physical, mental and emotional consequences of the trauma and allows a person to move forward. For our boys, this helps their trauma become a part of their history, not the defining event in their lives.
